I know I'm not the best player around, but these pictures remind me of me at my happiest: no concern about the world outside, my brain working at breakneck speed, my feet pounding the ground in sprints. That glorious feeling of scoring. I miss that feeling.

And even if I'm losing, or tired beyond belief, soccer always holds that promise of renewed life and vigour, just beyond the peripheral. And the journey to get there, draining as it is, is the most magical experience I have ever had.
